Need some feedback

I am a gym rat and still working out but have over the past months modified my routine to use bands and lighter weights. Ive recently started to alter my abdnominal routine as well. However, I just dont feel like Im getting a decent work out. My butt feels mushy now.

Anyone else still working out, and have you found a routine that you feel is still keeping you in shape? Any suggestions on good butt or ab exercises??!

  • You should definitely keep working out.  I'm using www.crossfitmoms.com and I love it!!  Its a lot of power lifts so if you are unfamiliar I would ask a trainer at the gym to assist you with form.  I hope you find something that works... and dont worry about a mushy butt.  Weight gain during pregnancy is expected.

  • My doc told me to cut out abs, so good bye flat stomach. I've been spinning about 2/week, running-weights 2/week, and Tracey Anderson DVDs 2/week. I love Tracy Anderson. She has killer leg-butt excersises.
  • Your body is gonna change, so expect that. It's normal, and as long as you manage your intake while pregnant and start back again after you're cleared to go back, you'll bounce. Make sure you eat clean, healthy foods. The tendency during pregnancy is to gravitate towards carbs because they often ease the nauseated tummy...that's gonna make any prego flabby.

Yoga is amazing for toning. I agree with the pp regarding Tracy Anderson's leg workout (she also has a great post-delivery DVD for getting back to shape afterwards). You can probably do standing abs, just not lying abs, but talk to your dr to be sure. I was able to do standing abs until I was 5.5 months pregnant.
