Pj's for hospital?

Anyone wear pj bottoms rather than a gown??!!  I can't think of anything more uncomfortable!!

Re: Pj's for hospital?

  • I brought comfy yoga pants . : )

  • I brought my nursing nighties as they would be comfy and i would be in the hospital recovering from a C.....
  • I did. Without them I would have felt disgusting! Those pj's were the only thing that made me feel human again.

  • I wore my maternity yoga pants both times with a nursing tank and when people came in I put a regular tank top over the nursing tank.

  • dark PJ bottoms and nursing tanks with a short robe to cover. I would suggest at least 3 pairs, I leaked through my pads while nursing (the after pains are horrific each time you have a baby) and had to change my pants a few times. Having them be darker pants it was easier to get them clean....sorry for tmi.

  • I brought inexpensive nursing pajamas both times.  I never hung out in a gown longer than I had to. I just don't find them comfortable or easy to nurse in.

Did you clean them in the sink or send them home to be laundered?

sent them home, but I was only there 36 hours. I actually bled through 2 pants and needed mom to bring me more :/ My rec is to change your pad before nursing if you plan to, it was insane.

  • I had to stay in my gown with my first since I had pre-e and was on mag sulfate for awhile after so I had my cather in plus I had a really bad tear that had some complications so they were constantly having to check and pants would've been a PITA.

I wore loose fitting pj pants and a nursing tank with my 2nd and it was nice. It wasn't a huge ordeal getting it off to be checked or anything either. I felt so much more "myself" in my clothes too :)

  • I hate nightgowns so I brought pajama pants and pajama shorts and tank tops and a zip up sweatshirt. It made me feel cozy and comfortable. I suggest the shorts if you are having a c-section or it is a chance you will have one because I had to keep the catheter in for half of the day after I had my son and after my shower the morning after I was able to wear the shirts with the catheter in because i was able to just slip the cord through the leg of the shorts which wouldn't have worked with pants, just a tip. I was so glad I happened to pack them or I would have been screwed and had to stay in a hospital gown.
