I noticed on Pinterest that you have a lot of juicing stuff pinned and I'm curious if you're doing a juicing diet? I have a juicer and have barely used it because I'm not sure what to make or what combos are good for what.
First off, I love pinterest and pin a lot of random stuff!
But, yes, I'm actually doing a juice feast (based on a 92 day program) and I'm 60 days in today. Craziness, but it's going really, really well. I had little to no confidence that I'd make it this far, heck, I thought I'd quit the first week. Now, I'm totally in the zone and can't fathom the fact that I'm 2/3rd through with the whole thing. I feel the best I've felt in a really long time (ever as an adult?), physically, mentally and emotionally. I'm down over 30lbs, have more energy and just feel cleaner and better. I know this has made a big impact in my pcp health related goals in terms of my bmi and toxic load, which has been a big motivating factor.
I currently drink about 3-4 quarts of juice per day (usually closer to 3 now, although in the beginning it was 4), plus lots of water, fresh coconut water and supplements. I'm still doing acupuncture twice a month and have added back in more exercise and physically supportive things for self-care and rewards (rather than food, which I used to use).
I juice once or twice a day depending on what my day looks like. I've been pretty creative over the last two months, but it's usually a combo of the following: celery, cucumber, kale, beet with greens, carrot, apple, orange, fennel, mint, spinach, greens, cabbage, broccoli, grapefruit, lemon. (I've also tried bell peppers, pumpkin (love!), sweet potato (didn't love), tomato, green bean (odd), pear, plum, peach (when they were in season), etc and try new things every once in awhile still, although I have my go-to produce. I often do lemon in water and or coconut juice at some point each day. The programs outline the other supportive things to do and supplements.
My favorite juices which I have at least a few times per week are:
But really, I just stock up and then grab whatever sounds good and through it in the juicer.
I'd say just grab some produce that you like to eat (raw or cooked) and play around. I use celery, cucumber and kale/spinach often with a bit of apple/orange as a base in a lot of juices, but change up the main additional veggie. When I started I did more fruit and then shifted to doing more veggie with fruits to balance the flavors or add a bit more calories (so odd to be concerned about getting enough when it was always the other way around before).
The hardest part is the social aspect of food. C (who doing this) and I haven't been using eating out as a date focus, so we've found new ways to connect/celebrate. I think not eating at social functions is more awkward for other people than it is for me, but it does lead to questions sometimes, which can be awkward, especially when people ask how long and then are shocked/concerned. Having to be prepared to be gone for a long time (esp. in my on-call, could be gone for days career) was tricky at first, but I have a (stylish) cooler bag and lots of ice packs and it hasn't been a problem (knock wood, more more birth this month).
That's probably way more than you wanted to know!
Let me know if you have other questions. I was super quiet about all this for a long-time, but now I feel comfortable sharing. I can also share more juice combos if you want.

So you are just drinking juice for 92 days? Do you eat anything at all during the day? Getting down 30lbs is amazing. I need to loose close to 100lbs to be in the ideal weight range for my height, but I would be happy losing around 85lbs. Is there a book I can read? If your not eating, how to you reintroduce foods?
I have about a million questions in my head.
Yep, just lots of fresh, 100% organic fruit and vegetable juice (plus water, coconut water, herbal teas and supplements). No, I haven't eaten anything for 60 days. The program I'm following/basing my choices on is this one:
It includes reintroducing food slowly, starting with soaked prunes, soft fruits, salads, then gradually introducing whole foods/cooked foods, which I will do similar to re-introduction after an elimination diet (which this basically is an intense version).

Is there a website for this program you are doing? I am interested and want to take a look! BTW, thank you for sharing, I didn't mean to out you.
