Have any of you used stretching and fisting as a way to prepare for birth? DH and I have started this and I'm curious to hear what techniques others are using.

Just be careful you don't stretch too much or you might accidently sneeze out your baby. Your baby could also fall out if you push too hard while pooping.

On the chance that you're not just starting drama but legitimately concerned about this:
The best thing you can do is work with an experienced care provider. He or she will guide you through different pushing positions that will allow you to gradually stretch and hopefully minimize tearing. You can also ask about perineal massage (although in my childbirth class, it was not recommended we do this at home!)
I barely tore with my first. But rest assured, stitches are not the end of the world. Mine dissolved in less than two weeks and my OB says she can't even tell I gave birth.
