Infertility

**Dreamalotmp**

I decided to call Magee. We have an appt there on the 19th. I'm bringing my charts and hoping he can shed some light on if DE can work. I'm still doing IUI#3 at the other place but it seems like a waste esp when RE told me to go straight to DE.

DH agreed to just go and talk with new RE. He is really worried abt the $ and it not working. Since you went to both places who do you feel more comfortable with?

ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

Re: **Dreamalotmp**

  • Hi Becky!  It really came down to feeling like I wanted to go to RHS because it was a new beginning for me, ya know? I had four failed procedures at Magee and I sort of associated them with Magee in my mind - even though it wasn't Magee's fault at all. They are super smart, very nice people over there. And it is much more convenient in a lot of ways. But RHS honestly feels right to me - maybe because it's smaller and because the doctors aren't rushing you out the door as quickly. And I realllly like my Dr - Dr Erb. She made me feel good about moving on to DE. I needed that.

As for it not working, DE IVF has such a high rate of success that he really shouldn't worry about that.

GL with IUI #3!!! It is always possible and I hope this one is it for you guys!

  • Just butting in to say that I'm at Magee with Dr.Sanfilippo and love him. He has great bedside manner and is very knowledgeable. Good luck with IUI #3 and hopefully you won't even need the consult!

I met Dr Sanfilippo when he did the IVF seminar and I loved him even from that brief meeting. My Drs were Gosman and Wakim. Both super smart, but not as outgoing.

  • Thank you ladies. I have Dr. Erb also. My consult will be with Wakim. Magee as of now just fits in better with our budget but then again until we have our appt who knows what the actual costs will be!

  • Becky -   We'd be at Magee if our financial situation hadn't miraculously changed right when we needed it to. Magee is the only clinic that offers shared cycles and they are LOTS less than the single recipient cycles done at RHS. So it sounds like Magee and Wakim could be just the ticket for you guys!  Update on your appointment when done and GL!!! :)
