I was told I may have a yeast infection by my dr. and she told me to use Monistat 7 cream...is this safe? Also, I hate the word "possible"...I have NO symptoms! Would you take it anyways assuming that the Dr. must have seen something you don't?
Infections can cause PTL, so if your dr told you to take it...I would take it. From what I have read it is safe but you can double check here: www.safefetus.com
It's on the list of pregnancy safe medication from my doctor's office. I just used it a few weeks ago too. I'd be hesitant to treat something you might not have though. It doesn't sound like it's something you even brought up with her, so how does she know you have a YI?

I had a yeast infection around 11 weeks that they told me I had. I never had any symptoms at all. I used Monistat 7, and although I hated the feeling, it was better to treat it than to leave it.
I think I might have one again...this time I have some symptoms, but I don't have a dr. apt. til Thursday. I'm going to call to see what I should do about it.

I had a watery discharge and so they did a pelvic exam. The discharge was nothing like the thick-cottage cheese they talk about...is it possible that perhaps I dont have symptoms but still have an infection?
I didn't have the usual symptoms either but it was a YI. I used the 7 day treatment. The 1 was not recommended because it can sting or burn. The 3 day stung for me when I wasn't pg, so I used the 7 day while pg. I don't think your dr would tell you to treat it if there wasn't a reason to believe it is a YI.

When I had my pap done, the Dr. said that there were just trace amounts of yeast, so I should do the treatment..so maybe it's the same thing with you. I didn't have any symptoms either.
