your older LO has done (or tried to do) to your younger LO?
DH just called me and told me how he had S on her activity mat while he was making her a bottle. He turns around and T has her foot on her chest! WTF!
Oh, and Tay was rubbing S's head, then tried to insert her finger in her eye. Another WTF!
All that we do to reinforce the use of gentle hands and being nice....is not going anywhere!
Re: What's the worst thing....
Well that would be the time I looked over and #1 had #2 down on the ground, had a hold of his hair and was slamming him face first into the concrete. Yeah, makes you feel better huh.
The stuff you're talking about seems pretty standard. Some of it will be testing boundaries, some of it aggression and some of it just figuring things out (like hmm if I put my finger in her eye what happens?)
I've decided that sibling aggression is one of those thing that people just don't talk about it because it's embarrassing, seems like we can' control our kids ect. I have 2 friends who are actually really open about what their kids are like and at least in those households ( a BB and GG house) their is a ton of beating the crap out of your sibling.
Ha! Honestly, I can't leave both kids alone together ever. E goes in her crib with a baby gate at the door if I have to leave her unattended.
I put E on my bed while I went to the bathroom once and S came in and grabbed her by her foot and slowly started to drag her off the bed. I ran from the toilet mid-pee and caught her before she fell to the the floor.
S started out really rough with her hugs, kisses and pats but has become much more gentle. Give it time. Your DD is just exploring and doesn't really understand that what she is doing hurts your little one. In the mean time keep your defenses up! Lol!
Ahh the joys of siblings. I hope it is okay if I share mine and my husband's.
I once carried my sister by the legs up the stairs. I was just 3 at the time and she was 5 months. Mom says I got up the first three to the gate and called out for her. I wanted to change her diaper up stairs it was stinky.
My husband is the youngest of two. His brother is 3 yrs older than him. One day at the park BIL sold DH to some guy for 5 dollars. The guy came up to MIL and grabed DH from her arms! Needless to say MIL snached him right back and started screaming at him. Can you imagine?
OMG A!!! I'm glad your DH is safe and sound! (i'm also glad that we have a 1 story house because Tay is obssessed with "helping" change S's diaper!
I am an only child so I could only act out against our cat. I used to put a sock on the cat's head and watch him run into walls.
