3 month old w/congestion and cough..what to do?

My poor DS#2 has been congested for the past couple days and now he has a little cough. I know there is not much we can do for the little guy but was wondering if anyone had and advice on what more we can do.  Right now we suck boogers out only when they are visible, we have been doing saline drops and humidifier at night and he is inclined in his bassinet now.  We just feel so helpless that we can't do much and him and I are not sleeping very well because of him not being able to breath. Anything will help thanks!

DS had the same thing going on.  We did all the same stuff you mentioned...the cold was still around after 3 wks so I took him to the pedi.   Pedi said because it lasted so long it was probably more than a virus so put him on antibiotics ....but I think unless it lasts a while you are doing everything you can.

Steam up your bathroom and take LO in there for 10-20 minutes.  Works great for my LO!

My baber has a cold too. :-( I do a saline mist, wait a couple minutes, then suction and wipe with 'Yes to Baby Carrots' brand nose wipes. I hate Boogie Wipes because they smell so strong. I do this 2 or 3 times a day. He haaaates it, but his nose is so full. The pedi nurse also said to put his crib mattress on an incline to help his sinuses drain, but he doesn't sleep in his crib - shh!

this....my LO has had a cold on and off for a while now....(darn daycare!!!!) and we have been doing everything,suctioning boogers, saline, humidifer, and steaming the bathroom up.  He STILL has the cold, but at least you make your LO more comfortable while he or she has the cold good luck!
