I have had 2 episodes this past week, where I have had subtle contractions pains for 3-5 hours at a time. I got checked out after my first episode Monday and they are actually working, Midwife said this is the beginning of labor for me and now it's just a waiting game. I am dilating and becoming more effaced, which is exciting, but it's also rather frustrating to. I'm going naturally and so it's just waiting until they get much more painful and consistent. I'm just a little exhausted and needed to vent. Has anyone else gone through these hours of beginning labor contractions, for them to stop and come back 2-3 days later. How long did you have these before you went into real labor?
Re: Beginning Labor ...
On Tuesday I would have sworn I was having the baby. Contractions were really bad for about 3 hours then stopped. Since then I have had contractions on and off, but nothing bad enough, or long enough to even time. I did dilate 2 more cm since then (got checked today), so maybe it's a good thing.
I am hoping to go naturally too, but I have an induction set for Monday due to GD. I will be 39 weeks 5 days though, so I am glad to get to go this long without needing an induction. Good luck!
Awe, I am so excited for you, getting to see your little one so soon!! I hope everything goes smoothly and Good luck :-)
That is how I have been trying to think about it. My body will be further along and more prepared when real labor sets in! But it does get slightly frustrating because I get excited, lol. Keeping my fingers crossed that those contractions continue to due some good for my cervix!! hehe :-)
weeks. sorry!
with my second, i had "bouts" of labor for weeks before my DD was actually born. i swore she would come early, but i was pregnant for 41 weeks and 6 days.
IMO, it's quite awesome to do labor a little here and a little there rather than for 24 straight hours! my "active" labor with #2 was only 7 hours from when i woke up in labor to when i was holding my baby in my arms.
