We got an official Cash for Keys offer this morning... $1,000 and they want us to be out by the 17th.

That offer sucks.  It won't even cover the deposit for a new rental house let alone the moving truck or any of the first months rent.  Oh and the move by date, it's the day before we finalize Iz's adoption, not cool.  I explained that we couldn't move before the 18th so I don't know why they would tell us the 17th, insanity. 

We can negotiate the terms "within reason" but the bank isn't being reasonable with their initial offer so I'm sure we aren't going to get enough to really help us move.  I have to consult with J when she wakes up but I'm sure she is going to agree that it's not enough and say we are staying here.

Keep in mind that it never hurts to counter - the worst they can do is say no and you stay.  Of course they are going to low ball in an attempt to get the best deal possible - its just the way of the world.
