Not something I'm remotely considering, but I just realized I know quite a few girls with this name.
Dawn Michelle (goes by Michelle, NOW) b. 1970
Kimberly Dawn b. 1981
Casey Dawn b. 1989
Whitney Dawn b. 1991
I think I went to school with a few more with the middle name Dawn (I was born in 1985). I was curious if it was a generational peak or a regional thing. All these girls were born in the mountains in VA (aka, redneck blood).
Re: Dawn
My cousin's wife's name is Dawn (not sure if she has a middle name) she's in her mid 30's, so she was born in the late 70's (I assume she's 34-36). They named their older daughter Autumn Dawn, she's almost 2.
I like Dawn as a fn and a mn, it's pretty
Ooh, I went to school with an Amanda Dawn too.
I looked it up on the SSA and the peak was in the early 70s, so I guess I find it surprising that I know people across 20 years with it. I think it's hung around as a regional thing. I still hear of Dawn every once in awhile as a MN here but mostly it's Grace or Renee these days.
I always think of the Full House episode where Stephanie wants to change her name to Dawn...
This!! It's also my mother's middle name.

My name is Dawn, born in 1972. I've known a bunch of Dawns, but I'd guess they were all born before 1985. I've heard it a lot more as a mn. It's short, one-syllable so flows well with a lot of fn, kinda like Grace, Rose, etc. I think it's a generational trend that's faded, though I still hear it as a mn sometimes.
Me too!
