Umm...back on topic to what you actually asked, since everyone didn't seem to notice that you didn't ask for their opinion on the name...I'm assuming it's a girl's name because I've only heard it used as a girl's name and Kinley was the most common nn I believe.
I think NNs should come organically and should be more about personality than just another name you are picking for your child. That said tho I would never pick a name that had a very obvious NN I didn't like- ex. I Love Donovan but was afraid people would call him Donny
I was thinking about using the name Mckinley, but when I tried to come up with the possible nn's I was at a loss so we decided to go with Kinley instead. Since it has one less syllable it doesnt really need a nickname. I do know of a 3 year old Kinley and her mom calls her Kins for short (when she is calling her or asking for something etc.)
