This article isn't as clear as the one in the magazine -- while it is more common to have the parents suing when they have a child born with a disability, the new "phenomenon" in Israel started in 1980 where a child sued for damages for being born with Tay-Sachs disease. It is now growing in popularity...it's bizarre. How can you sue for being born?
Maybe its done to get money to pay medical bills caused by having a disease/disorder? Not that I agree with it, but I'm trying to see a reason behind it.
