This is like our ongoing every day conversation - I'm really, really super big; I'm not a baby, I'm almost a grown up. We go over some variation of this 10X a day.
I tell her she's a big girl/big kid, not a baby, not a grown up yet.
No, but I kinda wish he would. Instead I get that he's a baby and not big enough to do certain things (for awhile it was potty, but now it's other things he should be doing). I'm sure it's because he wants to be just like DD, but now he's using it as free rein to throw food on the floor, not pick up toys, etc. It's driving me nuts!

Yes and it's driving me crazy! Lately it's "I'm bigger than "X"" X could be a friend, a doll, an inanimate object, etc. - but she lets you know that she's bigger! It almost sounds mean sometimes when she's saying she's bigger than her friends (who are in her class but younger than her). Of course I reassure her that she's a big girl, but I'm not a fan of comparing herself to her friends like that.
My daughter is always reminding us of how she's "4 now, then she's gonna be 16 and then she's gonna go to college like Andy" (from Toy Story)--LOL! Seems like once she turned 4 she became a certified big kid; it's really cute but a little sad at the same time. Time flies!
Well, one minute he is a big boy and can do everything and 2 seconds later, he is a baby and he doesn't want to do anything. OMG, ALL. DAY. LONG. That is all we talk about. I have no idea how to deal with it.
Yes. He wants more than anything to be big like his sister. DD is allowed to walk to 2 friends houses: one is 2 houses down the other 5. Generally, I watch her walk. He believe she should be able to walk that far also.
However, after he poops. He is not a big boy because he wants me to wipe his booty.
YEs she is. And not just a big girl, but also that she is bigger than everyone. She argues with her friend about who is the biggest! She even picked a fight with a 7-8 year old about who was bigger. She constantly tells her sister that she's the biggest. God for I call her baby! I think she equates big with being better/good. Probably in part because I tell her to act like a big girl, use her big girl voice, I'm proud she did that like a big girl etc.
My 2 girls, both born on a Friday the 13th, are exactly 2 years, 2 months, 2 hours and 2 minutes apart! And Baby Boy joined us October 11, 2013!
Re: is your LO obsessed w/ telling you they're a big kid
