"Moses baskets often have a lot of puffy/quilted fabric in and around them, never a good idea with a baby who still lacks the ability to control his head and neck movements. We don't recommend them, ever."
So, my question - now what? I looked at photos of Pack 'n Plays that have bassinets, and those look fairly padded as well. I've seen a lot about the Rock & Play.
If you kept your newborn in your room, where did he/she sleep? My room is not big enough to accommodate a full-sized crib. Thanks!

Not meaning to be snarky, I just find this type of reasoning to be extremely weak. It's like saying carseats are a waste of money because our parents didn't use them and we're still alive.
OP, we have a moses basket and use it specifically for daytime naps so DS is always closely monitored. Right now he doesn't really move so it's not too huge of a concern. What you can do is take two rolled up receiving blankets and place them on each side of LO starting from the armpit and down. That will usually keep LOs in place.
I would never tell someone else how to raise their child and I do not think any less or more of people for the practices they do with their children, but this is the truth for us, we used a moses basket with the little pad it came with and DD swaddled in a blanket and she slept fine until she outgrew it, we coslept more than anything though until she got bigger and we stopped breastfeeding at 14 months.
90% of the world cosleeps and we were part of that 90% and we will do it with our future children as well.
Lots of people have different ways of sleeping arrangements for their children and really it depends on each baby.
Traditional moses baskets and also co sleeping get a bad reputation but for us it worked, that was really my point.

Geez, did I poke you in the wrong spot? I'm pretty sure I said I wasn't trying to be snarky (oh yes, I DID specifically said I wasn't trying to be snarky) and nowhere was I criticizing your parenting. I just commented on the reason for why you recommend it. And, oh wait, in my second paragraph I mentioned that we have a moses basket too. And if you still think I'm criticizing your HORRIBLE parenting we bedshared with DD for the first 6 months. *gasp*
Reading. Comprehension. Fail. (NOW I'm being snarky.)
I guess I just interpreted the first paragraph as a defense mechanism. No harm done.
