Do you know what this is?
If you guessed "Sylvia, signing a D.C. marriage license application" YOU ARE CORRECT!
Yep, we're finally getting legally married! S picked the date some months back: 11/11/11 (yep, next Friday... *gulp*).
So far, we have the pastor on reserve for that day and we've chosen and ordered our rings, which we'll pick up this weekend. We're still trying to figure out the details of what to wear and where to have it. S has always said she just wants to have the ceremony under a tree at the DC/MD border, but since it's likely to be cold/rainy that day, we're now looking for an indoor place to use. I'm also toying with the idea of hiring a photographer, who would not only record the ceremony, but hopefully also get a couple shots we could use for our holiday cards. (Ahhhh, so many things to decide and so little time! But as you know, that's kinda how I roll, lol!)
Re: 11/11/11... and a PIP
Very exciting!!!!
and I've always thought there is something so magical and special about your children being able to witness it. Sprout and RB love looking through our wedding album - I can just imagine how much more they would love it if they were in it

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must have been super sneaky because when we were in that office J pulled out her phone and the woman who was watching us fill everything out freaked lol So when she took our licenses and SS cards to scan them we took as many pictures as we could without being noticeable lol. I'm happy for you two

DW and I got legally married (wedding part
in DC on April Fools 2010. We got married in their little chapel in the marriage license office. It was really cute for being a government building. If you get stuck without a place it is easy to set up the appt.
I am very excited for you guys, we are Marylanders and even though marriage is not here yet with the Gansler comments and our legal DC marriage we were able to fight the school board for health benefits for me. It took 14 months but having that piece of paper really paid off in the long run.

Thanks so much, everyone! We're both getting pretty excited. I will always consider 03/08/08 (our big wedding with the guests/dress/cake/etc.) our real wedding date, but it is awfully nice to be able to make it legal.
Trying-- Yeah, I didn't really read the "no pictures" sign until after I had borrowed S's cell phone to take the picture. Oops!
LV1979-- We live in Maryland, too. Glad to hear it mattered in MD for something!
