Adoption

From an Adoptee...

Thank you. :) Thank you for opening your hearts and homes while becoming a Mommy and Daddy. If you ever worry if your children won't love you the same - it's not true. I'm a Daddy's girl...even if he isn't my blood I can tell you he has my heart. I was adopted in a closed adoption and have no information on my mother or my father...except "he wasn't a pillar of the community". Take what you will from that..I know I have. But in all seriousness - Thank You.

 Parents who are willing to be dragged through the adoption process deserve a medal. I still remember the agency coming to our home to speak with mom and dad before they were able to adopt my brother {he's not my blood....but he is MY brother}. Those long nights, the fretting over finances, the fretting over if she would change her mind...but it was worth it, from my perspective. Because I got a Mommy and a Daddy out of the deal. I got endless bounds of love. I got hugs whenever I needed them. I got my first date to a school dance {the Father-Daughter dance in first grade}...I still remember him getting down and asking, "Will you be my date tonight?"

 You won't just be parents who adopted...you will be Mommy and Daddy. You will mend scuffed up knees and banged elbows only the way a Mommy could. You will give that hug that envelops your child - only the way Mommy can.

 Thank you. Thank you for putting yourself through the stress, the anxiety...the unknown. It's worth it. :)

 Always,

An Adoptee

 {I hope I haven't overstepped any boundaries. I lurk here sometimes...just because I'm adopted and curious, I guess. I haven't posted until now - but I hope I didn't overstep any boundaries. Thank you again!}
