Anyone use a Moby before 6 wks pp?

I am needing to find a way to carry DS for an event we're having to attend next weekend. I already have my DDs in a double stroller (which DH will be pushing) but can only imagine how overcrowded we'd make it if I brought the Snap n Go for DS.

Was anyone able to comfortably wear a Moby at about 1 month post c/s? I'd love to hear any feedback about this type of sling!

Also, if you did use a Moby, how long approx. could you wear your LO without any discomfort? Was there a special way you wore the Moby to avoid the incision area?

TIA!!

  • I wore it about 3 weeks pp for about an hour with no discomfort. Good luck!

  • I have a baby k'tan which is kindof like a moby. I wore DS2 in it around 2 1/2 weeks pp for about an hour and was fine. I was standing up and sitting down through. At 4 weeks I was already going grocery shop and to target with him in the baby k'tan with no problems.

  • 4.5 weeks PP...it was fine! :) It was better for me than lugging her around and I'd torn internal stitches at around 3 weeks PP. Wearing her more evenly distributed her weight and I just tied the belt a little higher.

  • I started about a month PP. I could have done it sooner. I was just intimidated by all the fabric.

  • We travelled out of town for a wedding at 2 weeks pp.  I purposely started practicing with the Moby at about 1 week, because that's pretty much how we survived the wedding, reception, and all sorts of wedding related events + beach/playground time with my toddler.  It wasn't uncomfortable at all, and he seriously lived in it for the long weekend, spending hours in it in between nursing.

Used the Moby until DS was about 12 lbs, when it started to become a bit tiring on by back.  Since then, I switched to a woven wrap which is far more supportive, and I can wear him all afternoon without an issue.

  • I wore a Moby long before 6 wks pp. It was probably more like 2 weeks. My daughter was really tiny, though, so that might have made a difference.

  • it seems to me that a baby-wearing sling would be a much more comfortable carrying solution for post c/s than actually holding the baby. is this a valid conclusion?
  • As with the PPs I was wearing my Moby long before 6 weeks PP.  I put him in it within the first week and have never looked back!

  • I'm a little over 2 weeks out and I started wearing mine last week.  My son needs to be held constantly or else its fussy central so it was sort of a necessity.  It has not been uncomfortable at all, but I also am not walking around with him in it a lot, more so sitting down and just walking from bedroom to living room to kitchen, etc.  I just wore it the normal way but I am tall and have a long torso so it wasn't an issue for me at all.  I highly recommend it!
