I keep getting emails from "Window's Live Team" telling me that my account will be shut down if i don't provide them with my username, date of birth, password and country... I don't provide any of that information through email, but I can't find any type of phone number to call and see if this is a scam or something. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten this email... I have recieved 5 of them already within two weeks...
Re: NPR: Anyone have a hotmail.com email accout????
I haven't gotten this email and it is probably a scam. If you want to check for sure, click on any link in the email. Then look at the address field of the browser and that should tip you off as to whether it is legit. The warning is that it is possible that just following the link could install a virus, but that's not too likely.
You can also try holding your cursor over the link without clicking. In some browsers you will see the address of the link along the bottom of the browser window. There is no risk of getting infected with anything if you do it this way.
Be sure to read the link carefully, because sometimes they make a big effort to trick you into thinking it looks like a legitimate link.
