January Birthday Party location in WNY? Help?

Hey Mama's,

I am at a loss over where to hold my daughter's first birthday party. We are expecting a little over 50 people, and there really isn't a home between family members that could fit that many comfortably. It is in January, so we need an indoor space. We were hoping to find a place where we could bring our own food, ect... which is proving to be difficult. I've been told so many times to turn to this board for help as it is a wonderful resource so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if anyone had any ideas? Of a banquet room, lodge, or community room type of space? We are in the city of Buffalo but anywhere in this general area would work. Thank you so much!

  • We rented a lodge at emery park (in south wales) for my dd's first bday party which was in february. Most of the erie county parks have lodges like that you can rent. You could also look into places like american legion/elks/moose halls.. they might be cheaper.

  • My mom is an officer at a vfw- that's where we're having our twins 1st bday in march. I think it's like $75. I picked it b/c it's a large space, you CAN bring your own food, we have the option of opening the bar- or having guests get their own bar drinks if they like and I can decorate the night before.

  • My dd's bday is also January.  We held her party at the Taylor Road Log Cabin through Hamburg.  It was a little pricey to rent on the weekends (I think $250) but was a great spot.  You can bring in your own food and drinks and they have a full kitchen.

  • I'm in Rochester, but for DS1's first b-day we rented a lodge at a park! Full kitchen and.brought our own food. I tried to do the same for DS2, but his b-day is Dec 10 and everything is booked for Christmas parties!!! Grrr

  • If there will be a lot of kids I would say toddle Town in Depew/West Seneca Area. It is on Transit Road and easy to find.

Lots of toys for kids to play with
