I've been taking zoloft since my DD was 4 weeks old. I started at a low dose and have slowly increased to 100 mg. I plan to stay on it for at least a year total. I had a few side effects when I first started (nausea and headache for a few days) but thats it.

I was on it for a little over a year for severe anxiety. I fought along it for months because I was scared of the mess, but I was literally nervous all day long with extreme butterflies, and still have no idea why. Anyways, Zoloft was a lifesaver and I gad no side effects going on it or coming off, though I dd it in super small doses and increases. I knew if I had side effects, I'd quit like I did the lexapro.
I've been doing great on Zoloft. I started on 25 mg at 6 weeks PP, and went up to 50 mg at 8 weeks. The fist day was AMAZING, but that was just it getting into my system. After 2 weeks I could tell that I was feeling more like my old 'normal' self.
It worked beautifully for me. I was on it from six weeks post partum and just now finished tapering off it completely (DD will be 2 in December). I was on 100mg and experienced minimal side effects (just some weight gain).
At the beginning, I did have some increased anxiety while my body adjusted to the medication and had a few minor side effects like nausea and night sweats. Those went away pretty quickly.
It did take a while (a good 6 weeks or so) for it to make a significant improvement. Part of that was working slowly up to the 100mg.
Re: I was prescribed Zoloft today
Its been great; as much as i hate it and taking it; its been the best thing to help get me back! Therapist has helped a lot as well!

Just keep taking it, good luck!
