NBR: Laundry services

Since I resigned from my job to be a SAHM I started advertising for a personal assistant type position so that I can bring in some extra income.

I have a request for laundry and I am stumped on what to charge.

How much would you be willing to pay someone to wash, dry and fold a load of laundry?

call up a dry cleaning place and see what they charge.  I'd charge about 1/3 or so less than them.

Couldn't find one that doesn't charge by the pound. 

I suppose I could stick my hamper on the bathroom scale to get an average lol

A big basket of laundry is ~ 10 lb, which is around $10 (or more) at most places. I wouldn't charge less than that if you're doing pick up/drop off.

15 sounds fair to me. Don't charge less than what makes it worth doing for you.

I could use your services too! I hate doing laundry.

I would pay a lot since I hate laundry but to do it at the laundry mat on my own to wash and dry is 4$ a load and then I have to fold my own. The place here charges $0.89 per pound for drop off service.

I guarantee you ladies that somewhere in your town, there is a teenager that would do a couple hours of laundry for twenty bucks.

Beats the heck out of babysitting...

My best friend was watching Cece until this week and she was folding my laundry and watching my kid for $10/hour.  The problem there is that for me, it takes less than an hour to fold 3-4 loads and I worked at Gap and have mad folding skillz.  haha.

So, I say you have to go by the pound. Or by the basket. $15-20/basket? Is that unreasonable? I think I'd pay it.

I worked at Sears for 5 years when I was in highschool/college and can fold clothes in my sleep!  How come it takes my husband 4 hours to fold his clothes?
