Ok, this is a lot harder than I thought DS turns 3 next Oct 12 (so he misses most cut-offs by 12 days). He's doing a 2 day a week program from 9-12 and he's doing really well, and I think he's really to do a 5 day a week morning program with the same hours. So, not a full day until he stops napping (which is hopefully not for another couple years!!) Anyway, I did some research and I have narrowed my list down to a few schools nearby. If anyone has sent their child to one of these schools or has any input, please let me know. Also, perhaps someone else can benefit from my list - I've typed in the name, address, phone number, tuition amt.

Re: The pre-school search...
as you know, our kids share a b-day:)
do you have a Goddard nearby? they do full day pre-school, including a nap! Their b-day cut off is Dec 31
we love it there (they take kids from 6weeks on up)
Really? Our LO is in a 2 yo 1/2 day program this year, and there are several potty trained kids in her class. Everywhere we looked had no problem with 2 yo kids going to the bathroom instead of diapers.
When I was teaching, there were several kids who came to us in 1st grade from a private K, and were just under the age requirement, but were able to "transfer" to first grade since they had completed private K elsewhere. Many of them had gone to Montessori programs for PS and K. I've heard good things about Cedar Lane.
PS -- Hi
, and congrats on the little girl on the way!
One of my co-workers just started her daughter at Cedar Lane and likes it.
It's in Annandale on Ravensworth Rd., but did you consider Hope Montessori? They start at 2.5. I almost sent my DD there but was worried (rightly so, DD wasn't ready) about the potty training requirement. They are really reasonably priced, $6750 for the morning program.
I quickly wrote those schools off the list, because if they aren't willing to take my kid to the bathroom, I can probably imagine what else they might not be willing to do!
Ceder Lane seems to be a very popular Montessori around here so I am excited for my tour. Its sister school, Holly Brook, it just down the road so I will probably tour there as well.
Good to see you on here. Hope the kids are doing well
Looks like a great place! I'll definitely add it to my list.
Usueonfire - did you see this
