I think my almost 5yo has a yeast rash...

on his bum. (BTW, isn't he too old for a 'diaper rash'??) He has had red spots on his bum for the past week or so. He has excema outbreaks frequently, so I've been using hydrocortisone on it, but it hasn't gone away. What do parents use for yeasty diaper rashes? We always had an Rx.

    Lotrimin for athlete's foot.

    I buy the Dollar Tree generic clotrimaloze rather than the actual $12 brand name Lotrimin.

    we bought store brand (vaginal) yeast infection cream and smothered the rash in it.  worked like a charm!

    My dd's eczema just started flaring up and it looks like it is all over her behind.  Never had it there before, but I think that is what it is.  Is it possible he has that and not yeast?  I've been doing aquaphor and that is helping.

     

    ETA:  sorry, just saw you were trying to treat that and it wasn't working!
