Pregnant after a Loss

tips on trucks and babies?

My husband is a general contractor who is co-owner of the company.  Since we found out I'm pregnant, he's been wanting to get a new truck as the one he drives currently is the kind w/ suicide doors which would be difficult (I think) to get a car seat in and out of.

He's about to go truck shopping this afternoon and I need your thoughts on what he needs to look for in a truck.  He's definitely getting a 4-door full size back seat truck, but is there something more he needs to look at?

thank you very much!

  • We just bought a 2006 Ford 150 with the extended cab.  THere is plenty of room for the baby seat in the back. My sister's husband has one and her kids fit perfectly back there. Just make sure it is a full back seat and a middle seat seatbelt (which it should).  For what its worth we love H's truck it is roomy, handles well and is actually really good on gas.

  • i've heard nothing but good things about the ford f series. you make sure you're able to get the car seat in & out comfortably. makre the car seat can fit in & out through the doors. remember that you have to lift the seat out of the base. make sure it has a latch system.?

Dual air control is nice too. if you're hot, but want baby to have the heat, it's great!

  • My DH has the only kid friendly car right now, his Dodge Ram Full cab. The back set is huge, not so great on gas, but hey for some reason guys like Hemi's...go figure. It gets us around town great, and I may be driving it until I figure out what kinda of mommy mobile I want!!!
