  • Hah, Drum would make such a cute sibset with my DS's name. Cool However, I think my DH would just laugh at me!

  • Ouiser's name is Louisa. They just say it differently. Also, I'm guessing M'lynn is short for Mary Ellen or something. I'm also guessing Drum is short for Drummond. Southern people are always giving sophisticated names and silly nicknames. My almost father in law is "Mack" even though his name is Charles.

Also, I love in To Kill a Mockingbird how "Jeremiah" is shortened to Jem. Jem=Jerem in the south.

    BTW, awesome movie.

  • Love the name Shelby, which is why I'm naming this LO Shelby Smile I get the comment all the time that it sounds southern, but DH and I are from south Georgia, so that's okay for me Smile

  • It's like the name Bubba! I have met so manyguys with the nickname "Bubba" here in Virginia...typically they have normal names like "Sam," too! Definitely a southern thing!
  • Ouiser is Louisa. I have met the real Louisa that the Ouiser Boudreax character was based on. She is not quite a snarky in person, but hilarious just the same. She does speaking engagements across the South.

Delta Burke played Truvy on Broadway. Now there's another Southern name.
