I have a policy that pays for 8 weeks for a c-section, it doesn't requrie that my employer fill out any paperwork, I just have to submit information about my hospital etc. My employer offered to pay me hourly to keep up on e-mails etc from home, just a few hours a week probably. Does anyone know if this could/will effect my STD policy? Technically I won't be working full time, but I will get paid for a few horus a week. This policy does requrie your employer to fill out forms if you claim STD for anything other than pregnancy. TIA!

I would ask HR about your company policy. My company's policy is that when on FMLA, I cannot work for the company or anyone employeed by the company.
To be on STD, you have to be on FMLA here.
And be careful about the 8 weeks - mine is 8 weeks too but I have to "cover" the first 2 weeks with either PTO or other leave.
Yeah mine doesn't kick in until 2 weeks after birth either so technically it's 6 weeks of pay. I'm not on FMLA because my company only has 35 employees so we aren't covered by FMLA. Our policy is 8 weeks unpaid leave, but I negotiated more with my boss. So my company doesnt actually pay anything for the policy or the payout, its a totally seperate individual policy I hold. I'll check with HR anyway though, maybe they can just delay paying me until my STD runs out.
I had AFLAC and they were very persistent that STD means you are medically unable to work for 6-8 weeks (depending on delivery). If they found out you were working, they could terminate benefits AND you would have to pay it back.
