This is a good deal, right?

DH is so freaking excited, and the more I looked into it, I think I might be too.  DS loves hockey (he'll be 5 in January,) and we just signed him up for this. I know hockey is usually very expensive, and we only have to pay for the 10 sessions of ice time ($130.) Here's what he gets for free:

One thousand Pittsburgh area youngsters will receive FREE head-to-toe hockey equipment this winter, thanks to Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are pleased to announce the return of the Little Penguins ?Learn to Play Hockey? program for its fourth season.

Through the combined efforts of Crosby, the Penguins, Reebok and ***?s Sporting Goods, boys and girls ages 4-7 enrolled in the program will be introduced to the game and receive the following  free, brand-new, head-to-toe hockey Reebok SC87 Crosby-endorsed equipment:

  • Little Penguins Jersey
  • Little Penguins Helmet Stickers
  • Reebok 4K Helmet
  • Reebok SC87-1 Skates
  • Reebok SC87-3 Gloves
  • Reebok SC87-3 Shoulder Pads
  • Reebok SC87-3 Shin Guards
  • Reebok SC87-3 Elbow Pads
  • Reebok SC87-3 Pants
  • Reebok SC87 32? Bag
  • Reebok 2K Stick
Happy 4th birthday!

Re: This is a good deal, right?

  • Hockey equipment is obscenely expensive, so yes. It's a hell of a deal. That's even cheap for ice time.

  • That is an awesome deal, we just were told for 1hour a week from November to March is approximately $300 just for the ice fees, that's after $150 down to hold our spot. That includes no equipment.

  • Yes!  We spent about 500.00 on equipment for my son and another 1200.00 for mite instructional hockey.  Granted he has three practices or games a week and its from September until March, but holy god it hurt handing over that money!
