Not getting enough milk?

My DD has been having some serious congestion which makes it tough for her to breastfeed.  This on top of teething has made the whole experience of breastfeeding less desirable for both of us.  So, I've been trying to give her more EBM and EBM/formula mix in her sippy cup throughout the day.  But she won't take much.  I'm concerned about the amount of milk she's getting.  Anyone else have an LO that has dropped their milk intake around this age? (she eats 3 solid meals & a small snack most days also)

She nurses in the morning, then takes milk from a sippy during the day (anywhere from 3 oz - 8 oz) and then nurses in the evening.  The last two nights she STTN, so that's been it.  Doesn't seem like much.

She's 8 months old and is a little over 20 lbs.

Re: Not getting enough milk?

  • My son BF in the morning and takes 2-3 4oz 1/2bm 1/2formula bottles a day, then BF when we get home and then all night long.  He only BF for 5-10 mins each time so I don't know how he gets enough but he's growing and happy so I guess he's getting enough.

  • My son had his first cold this week, and this happened to us as well. Problem is he's a very slow gainer and was sick so he had to get in those fluids. Sounds weird but I used a clean medicine dropper we never used and squirted it into his mouth. He thought it was some kind of game and took all of it! Hope that helps.
