I know this
has been asked a thousand times, but I?m at work and I don?t have time to
search .Anyways, need a good sleep
training book recommendation and not a CIO book (I don?t think I can handle
CIO).*tia*
Weissbluth's Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child and Ferber are not entirely CIO. For nighttime sleep, we did a modified CIO, and it really was not too painful for us or the LO. Sleepeasy Solution is another sleep book that might be helpful, but is CIO. There's a book called The No-Cry Sleep Solution which from the title is not CIO.
I second Weissbluth's Healthy Sleep Habits. The book has an element of CIO but I believe it has a modification for no CIO. The book does a great job explaining sleep patterns und all that fun jazz.

There is crying involved in the book Weissbluth's Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child but I can not tell you how if you read it and listen to the advice, it will HELP. Giving your child the gift to sleep and self sooth is something you will both benefit from for forever.
I'm going to echo the other replies and say you should definitely read Weissbluth's Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child. Before reading it I read up on the Ferber method as well as CIO and neither of those helps. Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child gave me a wealth of info to help my husband and I decide how to handle our babys sleep. He's 7 months and sleeps pretty much through the night unless he's sick or his sleeping has been thrown off (thanks to a visit from Grandma!). Good luck!
