I'm fairly new here and dont post too much, but I am so frustrated with my cycles. I came off the pills a few months ago and my cycles are so irregular now. I have had a 28 day cycle, I have had 32 days and this month I have had the shortest cycle - 24 days.
I was going to start tracking temps/charting this last cycle but got sick with the flu and decided not to... I think we might start OPKs this month...
Ive seen many of your posts about long cycles after coming off birth control pills, how long did it take you to actually get to consistent/ somewhat regular cycles??
Thanks ladies, the information all of you share here so helpful
Re: Regulating cycles after the pill blows =(
It took me a year to regulate. During that time, my cycles ranged from 19 to 71 days. I had a number of anovulatory cycles during that period too. DH and I TTC'd back then, with no luck.
Charting helped me immensely during that time. It gave me a window into exactly what was going on with my cycles. I could see if/when I was ovulating. I could see how my body was struggling to start producing fertile CM again. And when I had some super long cycles (quite a few were in the 40+ day range), I knew it was because ovulation was delayed/didn't happen, so I wouldn't waste time, money and emotion on pregnancy tests that would have been negative.

Dealing with MFI, good count, good motility, 3% morph-HSG all clear, all other test results came back normal, IUI is our next step
May 2012- Clomid 50mg + IUI = BFN
June- Cycle Break
July- Forced cycle break due to cysts
August- Femara, Trigger, IUI#2= ?
Your not alone. I came off BCP in September after 10 years on the pill. Ugh, so frustrating! My first cycle was 33 days, and I'm at CD17 today with no O in sight.
I agree with PPs thought- taking my temp has really calmed me down- I was stressed before I started learning about my body, and watching for ovulation signs. I'm not much calmer (but still frustrated) about the entire process.

I had my Mirena removed last June after three years - and my cycle has been CRAZY ever since! Last month, my doctor prescribed Lysteda because my period wouldn't stop (I was going through about 28 tampons EVERY DAY). This month, I have been put on progesterone because AF won't START! I am frustrated beyond belief - but my doc said not to wory - it can take 6 months to one year for cycles to even out after birth control.
Good luck! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you (and for me, too - just a little bit)
