Hi Ladies,
I am new here and just wondering when breastfed babies start sleeping through the night. I have been back to work since september and he still wakes up twice a night to nurse. He ends up spending most of the night in our bed because we both fall asleep during his feeding. He is almost 5 months old.

I hate to scare you, but I have the same question. Most people will tell you that it depends entirely on the baby. DD has STTN a few times, but not often. We are in the process of weaning and she still nurses 1-2 times overnight. Sorry to be Captain Bringdown!
My baby has never slept through the night.
He's actually gotten worse with time (I think he peaked around 3 months, when he used to sleep 5-6 hours straight nearly every night). We've started Ferber because I'm tired and can't wait it out (with 1-2 hours between feeds) for another 6 or 12 months.

I think that is prefectly normal. My son slept great (7 hours straight) until about 5 months old. From 5-12 months old he was all over the place -- sometimes sleeping through the night, sometimes waking up 2 or 3 times. He was inconsistent. I nursed him until he was 15 months old -- he has been consistently sleeping through the night since 12 months old.
My friends with formula-fed babies have not had anymore luck than myself and other EBF mamas with STTN. It's just babies! So much affects their sleep - developmental milestones, teething, changes in routine, growth spurts, etc etc.
