I have breathable ones in my son's crib. He has recently started sleeping on his tummy. It makes me nervous, but I always put him on his back and know it's fine. Anyway, last night, he was pretty close to the bumper with his face. Should I just remove them? Are the breathable ones "safe?" Also, he hits his head against things a lot in his crib. =(
Re: Bumpers Question
We use a breathable bumper- I've pressed my face against it and can breathe through it just fine. Just make sure the ties are secure and not hanging.
Regarding sleeping on the stomach, once they start moving there's really not much you can do, short of duct-taping them in place. I always place LO on his back, but he inevitably flips over. If I spent time trying to reposition him, we'd both be miserable.

I put our regular bumper back in this week.
DD kept banging her head on the slats, and getting her legs stuck. Last time it looked like she could have really injured her knee. She seems really happy with them in there, and she hasn't messed with them at all.
