I would say avoid it at all costs *insert eye roll*
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
I don't mean to be rude either, but why on earth would you have thought it wouldn't be safe? Would never have crossed my mind. However, I hate burnt toast, so I would have thrown it and made new stuff... then smothered it in peanut butter.
It is fine to eat burnt foods but I think it is awesome that you are so cautious with what you put in your body... Best to look into everything, I know that I do...
I personally don't worry about the things you "shouldn't" eat. I think for the most part its all a load of crap.
I agree! I eat everything in moderation. I have crab every couple of weeks and love a spicy tuna roll too..and I also had a glass of moscato wine last month..baby is good and I am happy.
It's a legit concern. Burnt areas on steaks have shown to be carcinogenic. I think recent research has shown that on non-meats, it is okay if charred...

True or not, I think you have to eat a whole burnt cow in one sitting for it to have any serious effects on you. If you're eating a charred steak once in a rare while (ha - rare) you'll be fine. Like previous posters have said, everything in moderation.
I think the poster concerned about heterocyclic amines (found in cooked and especially burned meat, which are known carcinogens) and is worried that HCAs are found in all burnt food, not just meat. I think it is a legitimate concern, especially for a pregnant woman. But my understanding is that HCAs only occur in charred meat.
I'm a registered dietitian and hear these questions quite often. It is safe to eat burnt bread products, especially if they were "dry" when they were burnt. It is not safe to consume excessive amounts of charred or bbq meats or cooking oil after it has reached the smoke point (you will notice smoke coming from the pan). Both charred meat and smoking oils contain carcinogens and may be linked to increased risk for cancer if large amounts are consumed. Hope that helps.
Re: Safe to eat burnt food? Like Toast, Waffles, etc?
^That.
It's fine. If you are comfortable eating it, it won't hurt you. Might not taste good, but that's up to you.

I also do not mean to be rude but..why on earth would that even matter? Just enjoy your pregnancy and don't stress over silly things...lol
