Bundle Me

Which bundle me is the one that is safe for car seats/won't void the warranty?  I remember we discussed it, but now I can't find the post.  I'm pretty sure the one we got for our shower is the wrong one, so I was going to return it for the correct one.

The shower cap style ones are not safe, they do not allow for adaquate air flow for the baby. I would be careful before purchasing one, I am suprised they are still sold, your safest bet is to just use a blanket over you baby.

The shower cap ones are the safe ones. It's the kind that has any piece that goes under the baby that are a problem. I can not even imagine how stupid a person would have to be to use either style in such a way that it would restrict air flow to the point of being dangerous.  Sorry but unless you are going to go out of your way to try to injure your child, or are an absolute moron, the shower cap ones are completely safe.

NICU will not let you leave the hospital with the shower cap style ones.  The research has show that it can increase ammonia levels because or reduced air circulation becuase of the small opening. I am pedi nurse and hate these, I wish I know which nursing journal I read this in so I could site the article. It is thought to be worse with male babies because the urine is held in the front of the diaper. You need to do you own research and determine which is safest for you and your child. My other concern with these is that it is difficult to see your child while you are driving in the car, and many people do not unzip them because the car "isnt warm yet" Again you are the mom and need to make up your own mind.

Thanks, everyone!  I will return mine for a shower cap style one.  We will live in the city and hardly ever drive - we'll be using it as a layer against the fog/wind in the city.
