My mom when to her doctor last week for her annual check up. While there she mentioned to him that "her baby was having trouble having a baby". He told her to tell me to take my temperature, have sex every three days, and to stay laying down for at least a half hour after having sex. She then proceeded to say that I'd probably need to get notebook to write down temps in and not forget to get a rectal thermometer.
I listened to her patiently until the rectal part, then I had to laugh and told her it wasn't rectal, but basal. She was very insistent that it was rectal though lol Then I emailed her my charts, which go back 3 years, and explained all the other things on the chart.
She's trying to help, but I really wish she'd understand that I am not uninformed! I know what I'm doing, but unfortunately I don't have any insurance so there's nothing else I can do. I do the charting and stuff out of habit now, not out of the hope that it will get me anywhere.
Re: My mom...
Rectal, basal - same difference. Too funny.
Your mom sounds caring but a worrier and you clearly handle her well.
