Have you ever checked out the blog "Filth Wizardry?"  It's a craft/art project blog but the mother comes up with the coolest and most ingenious uses for random materials...it is so cool.  She is very creative and frugal...I think you'd like it.  This post reminded me of it because she made her DD the unicorn pillow pet.

That Filth Wizardry post is hilarious. I used that same shag fabric for DDs costume and can 100% agree that it sheds like nothing I have ever seen. I coughed half the time I was sewing it and there are slightly shiny fibers from one end of my house to the other. It's awful.
