DD is tall and long waisted, so most of her dresses basically fit like long tops. She wears a 5, so she's right in between toddler and little girl sizing, so I feel like she should have a lot of options, but nothing is really working. Any recs? Bonus if they don't shrink with washing, since that seems to be part of the problem (it's a big problem with ON).
She always wear bloomer like shorts and will wear tights as it gets colder, but I'd really like to fine dresses that actually fit her. Going up to a 6 helps with length, but then the shoulders are so open that I feel like she has too much exposed up there. TIA!
Re: Dresses that run long?
My experience is with smaller sizes, so I don't know if this will hold true for older girls, but DD #1's Gymboree dresses are all much longer than those by other manufacturers. Like tripping on the hem long! She can still wear a 6 to 12 month dress, and it's finally a good length. (She's not short either--75 th percentile in height.)
ETA: Well, it's one 6 to 12 month dress since Gymboree is a little pricey for me to buy often. She also has an 18 month dress that is a bit too long for playing easily.
