Ovulation question

Since you guys have been so helpful in the past, here's a random question:

DH and I are trying for a 2nd. DS is 9 months right now. My cycles have been 29-31 days for the past 6 months. This is the first month I've been using ovulation sticks and I still haven't gotten a positive yet and I'm on day 18. Is it possible to ovulate this late with a 29 day cycle?? I got pregnant with DS month #1 off the pill so I never really knew when I ovulated before. This time around it's not happening as easy as we thought it would. Thoughts on late ovulation? Or is my body not ovulating from DS? THANKS!

When have you been taking the opk's? When I did them I always took them in the late afternoon/evening. Yes you can O late in the a cycle, maybe you're just having an off cycle.

If you really want to know when you're Oing I would check into charting on fertility friend.

Thanks! I am thinking about temping if I don't get PG this cycle, have heard that's the way to go. Just seems like an extra thing to remember to do at 5am when I get up to feed DS! Right now I'm using the sticks twice a day - mid morning and late evening. Appreciate the help!

I O'd on day 19 with typical 30 day cycles the month i got pg. I also tested with OPKs 2x a day and never got a positive that cycle.

It is posisble you have a short luteal phase, or you may be having an off cycle. And sometimes I never got a positive OPK but I was temping and knew I O'd.

I use the digital opk's they work better even though they are more expensive.  I have a 24 day cycle and I ovulate on day 9 or 10. I used to miss it because I didn't start opks early enough.  It is possible that you just missed it also.  Sometimes your surge comes and goes and you miss it with the opk.  It is also possible that you are just off this month.

For DD's conception, I O'd on day 19 or 20 of a 30 day cycle.  Maybe you are just ovulating early or late.
