Hi ladies. We are heading up to my parents' house due to the impending snow storm. They have a generator and we don't. I need to bring my freezer stash with us out of fear of losing it in the power outage. Ideally, I would think transporting it on dry ice would be the best bet. Unfortunately, we don't have anywhere that sells it nearby. If I were to pack all of the frozen milk close together in a cooler and surround it with ice packs and bags of frozen veg, do you think it would be okay for an hour and a half trip? I would put it in the trunk of the car, far from the heat, too. Any other ideas are welcome Thanks!
According to La Leche League the even if the milk defrosts a bit it is still good as long as the center is still frozen. Now I wouldn't take it out let it start to defrost and put it back 7 or 8 times but I think packed in ice for the car ride there and back it should be fine.
