Landsend fleece jackets?

How do they measure up to Columbia fleece?     I need something for in the carseat and Landsend has some pretty cute options for my 5 year old.     Do they wash well?

Re: Landsend fleece jackets?

  • I think so, I just bought one at a consignment store for my 4.5 year old, it's in great condition.

  • I've never had Columbia fleece, but both girls have the LE softest fleece jackets. They are super soft & warm, very comfy, the girls love them (4.5 & 2). I've already washed them multiple times & they still look great (the instructions say to turn them inside out for washing). Highly recommend.
  • I think they wash up better than the Columbia fleece. Ds has had

the Lands End thermocheck hoodie for a year and it still looks great after many washings. DD has a Columbia fleece and it's looking more some and isn't as soft.  I vote Land's End, especially since they usually have great promotions so you can get one fairly cheap.

  • Thanks for the advice!  I'm going to go with Landsend because they are cheaper, apparently wash up good, and better zippers than columbia (thanks for pointing that out).
  • Lands' End or LLBean for sure.   I don't think Columbia is very good quality at all.
  • I like the Lands end fleece.  We have the 200 weight ones for DD and DS.  It is warmer than a sweater and works well as a warm coat under their rain/wind shells.  I have a columbia one too for DS and it runs super small compared to LE.  It also washes well.  I like that the LE ones have a sleeve like the patagonia ones that we had when the kids were smaller.  It keeps some of the dirt and mess off the cuffs, which the Columbia does not have.  Overall, I would buy patagonia first, but at 3X -4X the price, I choose lands end for the fleece.  The quality is not much different, and I like the weight (I live in the south, not in Canada).  I also have LE snow pants and heavier jackets for snow.  My friends son has this one, and the fleece is nice, as is the other jacket, and it works for snow.
