DS still has pretty bad reflux. It's been really controlled lately on his meds, but as soon as he starts laying down more during the day it really starts bothering him. Because of this he's still napping in his swing. He's just now starting to really enjoy playing flat in his pnp or play mat without being in pain. A wedge under the mattress doesn't really seem to do much good and just distracts him more and he ends up not falling asleep and wiggling down to the end! I hate that he can't nap flat (i.e. normally), but I'm not sure if it's worth fighting. He's about to outgrow his swing and rnp, but I was thinking about getting a NB to toddler rocker.
Re: Where do your reflux babies nap?
DD had severe reflux and I was instructed to only let her sleep on her tummy by her specialist. The dr told me laying on their stomach helps prevent refluxing. She still cat-napped for 30 min until 6 months and then took 2 naps a day until 12 months (each nap about an hour).
Now (no reflux) she will only sleep on her tummy and will sleep 2.5 hours a day.
He hasn't been napping very well lately, but my LO has been taking naps in the PNP because I've agreed to watch my 2 cousin's kids (3) and the 1 year old won't sleep in the PNP, so I let him have the crib. I found it easier on me since my child will sleep in the PNP.
I would let him nap in his bouncy seat (as he used to) but he is so not into that seat anymore. Sigh!
My little ones have always napped on me. I nurse them to sleep and then enjoy the cuddles and downtime.
