how long did it take for your levels to drop

How far along were you?  Where did your hcg start at?  How long did it take to get back down?  Just trying to get a feel for the road ahead.

I had two early losses, @5.5wks.  The first my hCG was around 600 and the second pregnancy was around 260.  With both m/c's my levels returned to zero within 4-5 weeks.

I miscarried at about 4.5/5 weeks.  I felt something was wrong days before it happened so by the time I was bleeding and my levels were taken, I was at 56 (this was on a Friday).  I went back on the following Monday and levels were at 4, which is medical office 0.

I miscarried before my first appointment so I never knew what they were to start with, if they were ever healthy levels...Hope this helps you!

I was 11.5 weeks along and it took 4 weeks before I was at zero. Hope yours falls quickly now.  Is this your first draw? I think the rate of decline is one of the thing the docs look at, so even if the level is still high, if it is on a downward trajectory maybe you can take some comfort in that. Best wishes!

My levels were over 26,000. Took 4 weeks post D & C to return to normal. FX they lower quickly for you!

October 6 it was 2978.5.  By this point we were given the hint that things might not be looking good.  I was started on progesterone and scheduled for a repeat u/s on the 17th.  I wish I would have pursued why he didn't redraw the first set.  Consequently, I didn't have another quant done until 10/25.  I had them throw it in there as part of my d&c work up.  I thought that since this had been going "bad" for so long that my numbers would have been either lower, the same, or slightly higher.  I was slightly shocked to open the envelope and read 20,315.  So, this was my second draw since we were told things were going bad.  Just wasn't prepared for that.

Okay so I am not a doctor, but from what I understood, the big reason that my doc wanted repeated HCG draws on me was that she was worried that there could be tissue leftover. She wasnt planning on doing the draws at all until i ended up back in the ER a second time with super heavy bleeding. So if that draw was on the day of your D&C and given that your body maybe hadn't started a natural mc yet, I think it's not crazy that you had a high read. My first draw was over 14,000 and that was after 2 days of spotting and well into my body's mc process. Two days later I was at 7000, and then two weeks after that: 155. So the rate of decline is not at all linear.

Hi, I was 10wk 5d when I m/c naturally.  

Betas were at 12,056, then went to 1,000 2 days after m/c, but then took overall 4 weeks to reach 6...I got AF the day after I was told they were at 6 and I am done with AF now.

I was 6w6d when I miscarried. That day (CD1) I was only at 247. On CD3 I was down to 99 and on CD10 I was down to 8. I'm assuming I was down to 0 very shortly after that. But since I was on vacation, I couldn't have it confirmed with bloodwork that I was down to 0 until CD21. So for me it was quick, but I also started out being very low.

I am definitely one of those unusual stories. I found out I had miscarried on July 26th with my d&c being July 28th. Ended up in the ED on August 8th with heavy bleeding and clots. I was given methergine. Then 3 days later the dr i saw recommended a month or two of birth control (which my usual dr says she wouldn't have done and I think actually screwed me up). 6 week followup Sep 26th (spotting/bleeding the whole month of september). Ultrasound showed thick uterus, hcg still in 200's. 2 doses of misoprostol- levels went down to 83. 2 weeks later 55. Just got the call last Tuesday that I was finally down to 2. But no AF yet. So it took over 12 weeks to get levels down, but there was definitely retained tissue which I think was missed because of the bc. I just keep praying for AF so we can start trying again. Bled for so long, now praying to bleed. Good luck!
