Thank you all so much for all of your support today. I'm really struggling with the shock of all of this, but I am so grateful to have the ladies of both TTCAL and PgAL to lean on.
The ultrasound today showed just a normal, healthy reproductive system (as much as an u/s is able to tell). There was no evidence of a pregnancy. Frankly the betas are so low that I probably wasn't far enough along to see anything on an ultrasound, but I have peace of mind that I'm not about to lose a tube.
The midwife doesn't like that my beta didn't drop more, so she is having me go in for additional blood work tomorrow. I still don't have any bleeding. Hopefully my blood work will get down to zero fast, so we can work on getting back in the saddle.
We haven't talked yet about whether they'll allow me to do any testing. I know they like to wait to start testing until after a 3rd loss.
Thanks again for all of your hugs and best wishes. I'm doing a lot better now than I was this morning. ((hugs)) to everyone who needs them tonight.

My chart.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Curious, if you don't mind me asking, did you just get your BFP a few days ago? And they gave you an u/s that showed no sign of a pregnancy? That's normal. You can't usually see the sac even until you are 5 weeks along and you are only 3.5 weeks.
Can you clarify? Also, I don't know your back story. What was your beta?
I know, it is all incredibly confusing. You ask good questions.
The (not so) short version is that I had what I think was a super faint +HPT followed by a right-on-time period, albeit heavier than normal (assumed chemical pg). Then +OPKs 5 days earlier than normal followed by a temp rise. At (supposed) 2dpo I had crazy debilitating pain low on the left side of my abdomen for which the Dr. suggested an ultrasound to see if I had a twisted ovary, and a blood test to look for HCG or the lack of HCG to completely rule out ectopic. The blood was drawn in the wrong tube and therefore the lab couldn't process it.We decided to skip the ultrasound that day because after lying on the exam bed for a couple of hours the pain had subsided and I was starting to feel gassy movement. We decided it must have been just gas.
Fast forward to (supposed) 5dpo when I had a big temp drop, an unusually soft cervix and another +OPK. I took a HPT because the cervix, OPK, and chemical from last month made me
. It was a very dark positive.
At (supposed) 6dpo I had a beta of 171 which suggested to the midwife that I was 4-5weeks. Of course that didn't add up with LMP, and it was impossible in terms of our BD timing even if I had O'd even earlier than my chart suggested.
At (supposed) 8dpo my beta dropped to 115. Given the pain from last Friday, the failed first blood test and the beta's the midwife suggested an ultrasound today just to make sure there wasn't something like an ectopic going on. It's a real mystery.
If you want the whole story, here are a couple of links to my posts on PgAL (ticker warning for the comments):

There was a part of me that worried that the chemical pregnancy from last month was actually an ectopic that held on after AF. My temps have been unusually high all cycle and I worried that we'd caught the betas on a down swing thus, any implanted embryo might have been further along than the betas suggested, and perhaps I had a tube in danger. The u/s made me feel reassured that it wasn't the case.

I really really appreciate you writing this all out for me. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry it's being drug out like this.
I'm glad the u/s gave you reassurance that your tube was okay.
Do you know if they saw anything, like a thickened lining or anything? Have you bled at all since your betas have been going down? Again, I am so sorry.
I'm so glad you asked about these things too. I went back to look at my u/s results more carefully and saw several things I need to ask an obgyn or midwife about.
1. They found a hemorrhagic cyst in my left ovary with a tiny amount of fluid around it. That could very well explain all my pain last Friday. The report suggests repeat u/s in 6-8 weeks.
2. My uterine lining was only 7mm thick. Internet journal literature suggests that's way too low to sustain a intrauterine pregnancy. Now I want to know why my lining didn't thicken and if my light periods indicate an ongoing lining deficiency.
3. No, I'm not having any bleeding yet at all. I assume it will happen, but it hasn't started yet.
