Hi All -- I'm starting to worry a little about LO's verbal milestones. She makes a lot of noise (ahh, oooh, gooo, raspberries, squeals...) and she smiles and laughs a lot, but she's not doing real babbling yet--no mamama, dadadada, bababa.
The pediatrician says he'll start to worry if she's not babbling at the 9 month visit but I'm wondering if there's something I could be doing now to help her...
When did your db start to babble? Anyone else still waiting to hear it?
Re: Babbling - 7 mo not doing it yet...
My DD is the same way as your LO. I was just telling my DH that I was worried. I am interested to see what people say.
First, please do not worry. because if you do you'll forget to enjoy your Lo now...
second, we all know that every baby is different and they'll reach each milestone at their appointed time. If pedi says dont worry then please dont...
My son started to babble just this week and he's almost 8 months. I didn't even know that he should be babbling before 9 month but I kept telling him mama, dada, thatha.... my son isn't crawling yet but does army crawl... but i see some babies crawl at 6 months. so babies are just different
My little girl is three days older than yours, and still isn't babbling. She does the sounds and the raspberries, too. I can't wait until she starts babbling. It's going to be so CUTE!
I call BS on this one. I know your daughter is probably super genius and all that shiit, but there is no way an 8 month old said Hey Mom and meant it as a greeting to you or a way of getting attention. You heard what you wanted to hear.
my 8mo old mostly says 'ahhh' and 'ehhhh' or 'ahbooo' the occasional 'gooo' 'baaa' 'maaa' and 'daaaa'. some times shes says 'amm' and 'ummm' 'yaaa'.
- now - I had to really pay attention to the noises she made just now to tell you that! (infact she just made a noise that sounded like 'whoa man')
your DD might be babbling but you might just not realize it because you hear it so much. I'm with my DD all day and I tend to 'tune out' her noises so I can focus on my work (I work from home and my boss allows me to have her with me).
This.. kinda. DD just started babbling dada and baba out of the blue yesterday and it's all we've heard non stop.
