Babies: 6 - 9 Months

If your LO only napped in swing

Jumping over from 0-3 board.

No matter how much I pay attention to not keeping him up past "the window of opportunity", he always wakes up 30 minutes into the nap when he's in his crib.  However, if I put him in his swing from the get-go, he will do a solid stretch.  He sleeps well in his crib during the night, but not during the day.

My question is...for those who had "daytime swing nappers", how hard was it to transition them into their crib?

  • No not at all....DD just decided one day that she wasn't going to nap in the swing anymore and to the crib we went. How old is your little one?

DD did this when she started to move more and realize that she was strapped in. LOL

  • Never mind...I see your LO is one month. I would not worry about it all and enjoy the longer naps in the swing.

  • Mine was a car seat napper.  Same thing.  I just waited for him to not like it anymore.  At 5 months he wouldn't sleep in it anymore and wanted to be in his crib.  Don't worry.

  • We used the swing until 6 months, then tried the crib and she went down no problem. Dont worry, it will work out. Just do what works!

  • That is what the swing is for at that age! Enjoy the long naps, especially with 2 other kids. The transition for us started when she really started rolling well, as she would try to roll while in it :(~ It really wasn't difficult. It had to happen, so it wasn't really an option. It may have taken a week total to get to normal length naps. And this was around 5.5 months.
