Houston Babies

crap day.

Stressing over work stuff.  Unexpectedly have to pick up some new costs for a client, and got into such a mess over it that I forgot a new client meeting.  I have NEVER!  I'm so embarrassed.  Sad Baby brain doesn't really fly as a valid excuse in business land.  I feel like a stupid, exhausted, binge-eating mess today.

Re: crap day.

  • Oh!  I hope you are feeling better now.  It happens to all of us.  I don't know how old your child(ren) is(are), but it is hard to work and be a mom and a wife and everything else you need to be.

You are not stupid.  Listen to your body and if you are exhausted, take a day off (from everything).  I need to follow that advice more often.

I read something a while ago about priorities.  I'm sure you've heard it all, but what I liked about this was that it said that your priorities may change every day (every minute even) and that's okay.  I was struggling with work/mom/wife priorities.  So, I now say what is my priority for today.  Work?  I will have to work late but I can leave early tomorrow and pick up the baby from school.

Anyway, I've been there and I just wanted to reach out to you.

    XOXOXOXO

    Alma

  • Hey, Alma, thank you so much.

    I'm actually not even a mother...yet. Smile

Tomorrow should be the last I have to deal with that customer, and she's really happy now.  It was a project I took on before BFP, and my energy levels just haven't been where they need to keep up the pace I had before.  Priorities are definitely changing; I hope poor raspberry isn't stressed out in there.  I just have to survive this next week, then I have more freedom to delegate.
