Question for those who had a natural miscarriage.

How long after you started bleeding did you ovulate, and do you count the first day of your new cycle as the day you started bleeding with your MC? I stopped spotting on Monday and my HCG level was 13 that day. Our doctor gave us the green light to start trying again, but I have no idea when to expect ovulation. I have been temping and checking CM and CP but I still feel in the dark. In my past cycles I ovulated on day 12 or 13.

Ovulation will vary by person.  It may be soon for you or it's possible your body may be trying to get back to normal and it may take awhile.

I had a natural m/c. My bleeding started (and I passed everything) on 9/25. I O'd on 10/17 so 23 days after bleeding started. I was told to could the 1st day of bleeding as CD1. My OB said that when you O depends on when the HCG leaves your system and that depends on why you m/c. I had a missed m/c and my baby's heart stopped about a week before I started bleeding. According to my OB my hcg started dropping right around when my baby's heart stopped so it was prior to the actual m/c which is why it only took me 23 days to O. Some people O even sooner (like if the m/c is at 5 weeks vs mine which was almost 13 weeks) and some O later so it depends too on where you were in your pregnancy when you m/c.

I started counting on the day m/c started. I didn't O until CD28, but I have seen where some women O'd as early as 10-12 days after.

I actually skipped charting until my first actual AF started. Unfortunately, I was anovulatory between my m/c and my first AF. I do think a lot of people count the first day of your m/c as "CD1." My first cycle though was crazy and I didn't O until almost CD30. Thankfully my cycle has moved up and now it's around CD19, but it took some time. Try not to get frustrated if your body doesn't go back to normal right away, it can take some time. (Hugs).

I think everyone is going to be different. 

I just got my CH's on CD24, while I normally ovulate between CD16 and 20 during an unmedicated cycle.  So, my ovulation was delayed, but nothing too crazy... that is if my CHs stay where they are.

I've also read that some people don't ovulate at all after a m/c.

I would think that your HCG would have to be negative though for you to ovulate, but I may be wrong.  It was my understanding that below 5 is negative.  I was at 0 less than a week after I started bleeding so it happened quickly for me. 

Are you planning on using OPKs?

Thank you all for sharing. I was about 7 weeks when I miscarried and my HCG level was around 1300. Monday I go in for more bloodwork, and I hope this is the last time.

No I wasn't planning on it. I was going to see how the first couple months went and if I was still trying I would add them.

Once I finally passed everything (it was an obvious event), that was like day 1.  I ovulated right on time and got my period 31 days later.

I didn't chart that cycle but first day of bleeding is considered day 1. Everyone is different but I know a lot of women who do ovulate that cycle. Good luck to you!

I m/c naturally two weeks ago yesterday.  Bleeding stopped one week after I passed the tissue.  I'm not charting, so I'm not sure exactly when I did (or will) O, however, I DID get some EWCM on Wednesday.

I counted the first day of my cycle as the day I started bleeding. My HCG was low to begin with and was down to 8 by CD10. I'm assuming it went down to 0 within the next couple of days but I couldn't go in to confirm it until almost 2 weeks later. I ovulated on CD19. My cycles are on average about 26 days so I'm assuming I typically ovulate earlier than that (don't know when since I don't chart). But I know others have taken a lot longer so I'm not complaining about CD19. I'm currently 9 DPO and I'm hoping for AF to arrive no earlier than next Tuesday...otherwise I'll start worrying about LPD.

Everyone is different & it's pretty normal for your O to be delayed after a miscarriage. Just keep looking for those signs. I counted the day of my miscarriage as CD1- I had heavy bleeding & passed my baby that night. I had spotting the day before my miscarriage, but nothing warranting use of a pad, so I did not count that as CD 1. My betas the day before my miscarriage were in the 3000s. I O'd on CD20. I typically O on CD 14 or 16, so the miscarriage & stress of event delayed it a few days. I would also suggest the use of OPKs to help pinpoint impending ovulation since the miscarriage can throw your cycle off. Just a thought! GL.

I started m/c naturally and had a D+E later that day.  I just got my first CH post m/c, and I O'd on CD 21, only a few days behind normal for me.  That said, everyone will have different experiences.  It depends how quickly your hormones fall, and how quickly the old hormones re-start.

I for me I wasn't temping or doing OPK after my m/c ( I was going to wait till AF came) I did get a lot and I mean a LOT of CM around 4 weeks after my m/c....I was taking that to be that I was Oing.  and thinking AF would come 2 weeks later...nope. AF didn't come to visit until almost 10 weeks out from my m/c.  I am not sure if I Od or not...but I think I did.

first natural miscarriage i started my period about a week after I stopped having miscarriage bleeding and then ovulated 21 days later. I just started miscarrying this time so I am not sure how this one is going to go but i hope it goes the same way. i was glad I had my period right away so I knew to start my new cycle

My doctor told me to count CD1 as the first day I started filling up pads while bleeding (this totally made me cry because I still thought/considered myself pregnant that day). 

 

My temperatures were completely wonky, so I stopped temping. I am pretty sure I O'd 2.5 weeks afterwards - I was traveling for work, but definitely had EWCM and then got my period 2 weeks later.

Of course everyone is different. I had 2 CP & 2 DE's in the past. Each time I O'd very close to my usual CD 16. I think one cycle may have been 30 days rather than my normal 28 days.

Do you use OPKs? This might help to determine if O is around the corner.
