Is there a nurses' line? I'd call that and see what they think. Since it's approaching the weekend, I'd probably try to get LO in so you aren't dealing with urgent care.

I would call the nurse to get instructions on what to do over the weekend if it should progress to something worse. I think the main thing to be concerned about is if LO develops a fever or has vomiting/diharrhea, etc.
I just asked my baby's pedi about this on Wed, because my son has been coughing a little bit, but it's not a wet cough so I don't know if you would do this same thing so please ask your pedi...
She told me to get saline solution and put a couple drops in his nose and suction it out and to also use a little Vaseline on his nostrils. Now that the weather is cold (I'm in Chicago), and our heat is on, we tend to get dry and doing this will help with that and to help my baby NOT get a nosebleed.
My little guy has had a cold for just over a week now, and a few days ago, he started coughing quite often - it's a wet cough. I took him to the pedi and he checked him out. Said his lungs sound fine and told me to take him into a steamy bathroom to help get the phlegm out. He also told me that if the coughing doesn't subside in a few days, to come back. It's pretty scary, but I feel better after taking him to the Doctor....Good luck!!!
DS has had a stuffy nose and dry cough for a few days. Weird thing is the "snot" is clear..not colored at all. The cough is dry and sounds like it's mostly from post-nasal drip. I'm giving it until Monday then calling the pedi. I am wondering since the "Snot" isn't colored if it's teething (or a cold) but as of now no infection.
Right now I put him a steamy bathroom, saline drops and suck his nose out (if he'll let me) and his vaporizer running (which it always did anyway).
