Now that P is trying to crawl, he has a lot of face-to-floor time. We have hardwood floors with area rugs, so I had been just throwing a big blanket down on the living room rug (extra cushion for falling and to protect the rug from spit up) but I find that he likes the wood floor better. He gets more traction I think LOL. Plus he will be mobile soon and getting around everywhere!
We have 2 dogs so I vacuum just about every day, but I only "wash" the floors maybe once a month with warm water and a cleaner. (I do a wet swiffer in between for messes and wash the kitchen and bathroom tile floors more often.) So I obviously need to start really cleaning them better and more frequently. Do you have a baby-safe floor cleaner that you like? Anyone happy with a steam mop? I am not comfortable with using pine sol or other "non-safe" cleaners and will likely ditch the wet swiffers, too. I need some good recs! TIA
Re: how do you clean your floors?
I have a few tools that I love love love!! When we had DD, and DH started working second shift, it was difficult to find time to sweep, and we have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have a steam mop / vac combo, however, the vaccuum part is only so-so, but I love love love my steam mop.
My DH also bought me a Roomba (I think that's what it is), a robot vaccuum. We have it set up to vaccuum our hardwood floors every other day in the main living area. It misses little corners and underneath very low furniture like our coffee table because we have so much stuff sitting out in the living room / dining room. But, it saves me so much time, it's much easier to manage, and my floors look pretty good!
I don't know what I would do without it!
I use Mrs. Meyers products - the basil scent is my favorite! It smells awesome and cleans great and it is one of the more baby-friendly products out there
